FAIT COURAGE EN EUROPE: LET'S SHAKE THE DIS-EASE

I've quoted this before; and I'll quote again from Professor Andrew Gamble's Spectre At the Feast:

'Crisis is a much overused term, but still an indispensable one.. Here crisis is understood as a distinct moment in a process which has a much longer time-frame. This process is the disease itself, and the crisis is the turning point in that disease, the moment when the body either starts to shake off the disease or succumbs to it'.

Another well-torn cliche reminds us all that the Chinese character for Danger is also the mid-wife to Opportunity.

Europe, let's get with the programme!! (Remember what Walter Bagheot said about 'strengthening' yourself in the face of a Banking crisis). If you want growth, stop stifling it.. Write off those bad debts, draw the necessary impairment charges, back the Eurozone (don't whinge about it) and hasten productivity reform.

If you believe in the 'European project', stand by your belief and confirm your conviction.. Don't backslide and sideslide along the road to oblivion..

Go long, and go hard!!!!

As my musical mentor and friend, Conductor Christopher Martin used to stress to his orchestras: Fait Courage!

Dear Europe, for our global sanity -

FAIT COURAGE...
