THE APPLE OF YOUR EYE - BWV 1079
OPFER
'O wie blüht mein Leib aus jeder Ader
duftender, seitdem ich dich erkenn;
Alles was durch meine Kinderjahre
namenlos noch und wie Wasser glänzt,
will ich nach dir nennen am Altare,
der entzündet ist von deinem Haare
und mit deinen Brüsten leicht bekränzt'.

--- * --- { ( WALKING IN THE WINTER WONDERLAND ) } --- * ---
Tullias Dunkelheit. In ihrer Scham
Zuweilen nahm
sie etwas Klang von meiner Oberfläche
in ihr Gesicht und sang zu mir.
Dann spannte ich mich gegen ihre Schwäche,
und endlich war mein Inneres in ihr'.
A GOOD WORK ETHIC, AND WHAT'S IN A NAME?
'What do we mean by "investor"? Throughout this book the term will be used in contradistinction to "speculator" '; A great deal is at stake in the innocent-appearing question whether "customers" or "clients" is the more appropriate name'.
CHARACTER x INTELLECT = FINANCIAL HORSEPOWER - 'Take a Simple Idea and Take It Seriously'..
'Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were when you woke up'; 'In my whole life, I have known no wise people (over a broad subject matter area) who didn’t read all the time — none, zero'; 'Choose clients as you would friends'; 'In business we often find that the winning system goes almost ridiculously far in maximizing and or minimizing one or a few variables — like the discount warehouses of Costco'.

* FIRST LIGHT *
'The Office of the Chancellor is to correct Men’s consciences for Frauds, Breach of Trusts, Wrongs and oppressions, of what Nature soever they be, and to soften and mollify the Extremity of the Law, which is called sunimum jus.
And for the judgment, &c., law and equity are distinct, both in their courts, their judges, and the rules of justice; and yet they both aim at one and the same end, which is to do right; as Justice and Mercy differ in their effects and operations, yet both join in the manifestation of God's glory' per Lord Ellesmere LC in the Earl of Oxford's case
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS .......... ( ) ...........
'.. "When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone," it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less." "The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean different things." "The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all." (Looking Glass, c. vi.) After all this long discussion the question is whether the words "If a man has" can mean "If a man thinks he has." I am of opinion that they cannot, and that the case should be decided accordingly' per Lord Atkin, Liversidge v Anderson - http://quotableliberal.blogspot.com.au/2011/11/lord-atkins-judgment-in-liversidge-v.html

""We've woven hearts a thorn arbour
Left tear streaked reason upon the shore
And bereft of compass, star or more
Set out for this World's end

Painting coal a perfect gold

Dead in the brine again"

SOCIETAL MEDIUM
"[Great leaders] don't work in existing systems. They change the systems to give them what they want. They come up with new options for jobs, projects and professional development that their bosses hadn't even thought of. They see an opportunity coming their way before most of the rest of us have looked up from our laptops, and they seize it."

NECROMANCY - { (Dys/U) * TOPIA } = GUNS FOR HIRE....
'I'll take a nicotine, caffine, sugar fix
Jesus don't ya git tired of turnin' tricks
But when your innocence dies
You'll find the blues
Seems all our heroes were born to lose
Just walkin' through time
You believe this heat
Another empty house another dead end street
Gonna rest my bones an sit for a spell
This side of heaven this close to Hell
Right next door to hell
Why don't you write a letter to me yeah
I said I'm right next door to hell
An so many eyes are on me
Right next door to hell
I got nowhere else to be
Right next door to hell
Feels like the walls are closing in on me
My mamma never really said much to me
She was much too young and scared ta be
Hell "Freud" might say that's what I need
But all I really ever get is greed
An most my friends they feel the same
Hell we don't even have ourselves to blame
{ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/g/guns-n_-roses-lyrics/right-next-door-to-hell-lyrics.html }
But times are hard and thrills are cheaper
As your arms get shorter
Your pockets get deeper
Right next door to hell
Why don't you write a letter to me yeah
I said I'm right next door to hell
An so many eyes are on me
Right next door to hell
I never thought this is where I'd be
Right next door to hell
Thinkin' time'll stand still for me
Fuck you
Bitch
Not bad kids just stupid ones
Yeah we thought we'd own the world
An gettin' used was havin' fun
I said we're not sad kids just lucid ones yeah
Flowin' through life not collectin' anyone
So much out there
Still so much to see
Time's too much to handle
Time's too much for me
It drives me up the walls
Drives me out of my mind
Can you tell me what this means...huh?'

No me abandones.

CARMEN ELECTRUM
"Again, I attended with a gentle devotion; I did not run away, again. This victory over my impatience surprises me. How fulfilling is such a work! One turns into a masterpiece with it.--And, indeed, I appeared to myself, every time that I heard Carmen, to be more of a philosopher, a better philosopher than I usually appear to myself: having become so patient, so happy, so East-Indian, so sedentary... To sit for five hours: the first step to sanctity!--May I say that Bizet's orchestral sound is the only one I can still endure?" - The Case of Wagner: A Musician's Problem

WE COMMIT OUR SPIRITS
Mama, they try and break me
The window burns
To light the way back home
A light that warms
No matter where they've gone now
They're off to find
The hero of the day
Oh, but what if they should fall
By someone's wicked way
Still the window burns, time so slowly turns
And someone there is sighin'
Keepers of the flames, do you feel your names?
Can't you hear your baby's crying?
Mama, they try and break me
Still they try and break me
S'cuse me
While I tend to how I feel
These things return to me
That still seem real
Now deservingly
This easy chair
But the rocking stopped
By wheels of despair, yeah
Don't want your aid but the fist I've made
For years, won't hold or feel
No, I'm not all me, so please excuse me
While I tend to how I feel
But now the dreams and waking screams
That ever last the night
So build a wall, behind it crawl
And hide until it's light
So can't you hear your baby's crying now?
Still the window burns, time so slowly turns
Someone there is sighin'
Keepers of the flames, can't you hear your names?
Can't you hear your baby's crying?
But now the dreams and waking screams
That everlast the night
So build a wall, behind it crawl
And hide until it's light
So can't hear your baby's crying now?
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try, mama, they try
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try and break me
Mama, they try, mama, they try
THAT GRACEFUL GARDEN
Matthew 26:36-46 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” 42
I HAVE JACK'S BACK
There has been a storm-in-a-teacup furore over Jack Welch's tweet re the latest job figures. I'm not an expert respecting BLS data. However, Americans, I believe, should remember something about Jack's 20-year stewardship of GE. GE was the most admired company in the world. Jack has always admitted he makes mistakes (there's no other way to learn). Perhaps the wider Blogosphere cum opinionazis could see things similarly.
Let's be honest. America et al. is not where she needs to be. Before we shoot down the stars, let's make sure the temple's still standing..
