A TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY MANIFESTO

I am not so weak as to submit to the demands of the age when they go against my convictions. I spin a cocoon around myself; let others do the same…

Caspar David Friedrich

Soros speaks of the breakdown of the European Union ---

We must forge the currency of a new Spiritual mettle. The Ring of the Niebelungen into a contract for justice. And Justice for Art.

We must fashion divine inspiration from a human aspiration.

With threat of destruction, we must look for an heavenly coin.

David Malouf speaks of emerging complexity and ideal form: reflected in the ‘mirror’ of Beethoven’s Ninth.

And I say unto all, we require the shrewdness of a Rothschild with the vision of Bach.

Given this Eurocrisis and cultural relativism, it is time to seek a ‘Brandenburg’ harmony, to a higher order of Wealth-Spiritual endeavour.

Let Us reexamine the notion of Utopia. And translate that impulse into ‘Your-topia’, ours and your place in the hemisphere, upon the globe, in the Heavens.

To attain the Summit, we must, first, all of us, public officials, regional architects, citizens and artists initiate a greater dialogue.

Yes, that very dialogue!

Or, again, that ‘multilogue’ of spiritual voices emboldened by material success.

For through this Journey, we shall enter the next Poetic age.
